The Girl behind the camera

A little bit about me

First off I want to apologize for falling off the map for awhile there. I promise to do better! In this little snippet I thought I would introduce and tell a little bit about myself. I specialize in family and portrait photography. I’ve been in business for 3 and a half years and my goal is to capture images that will be cherished as family heirlooms. That’s the business side of me. The everyday me is a very laidback person who has a desire to help those around me. I love buying way too many plants and books. (there is a stack of books on my nightstand as we speak) Thrifts stores are my jam and I may be slightly addicted to barbeque chips! As a kid I was very much the tomboy who was always looking for the next adventure that wouldn’t get me into too much trouble. I also had extreme ADHD as a child. I was a nuisance in school and one teacher even told my mom I would never amount to anything. I tell you this because it is a huge part of me, and to encourage any mamma's out there who have children with this. If I didn't have ADHD I wouldn't be where I am now as a person or as a business. Instead of giving up on me my mom pulled me out of school and started home schooling me, encouraging all my wild imaginations and endless energy. Now that I've better learned how to harness it, it is almost like a super power! When I have an idea I stick to it till I figure it out. Even when I'm doing or thinking about something else, in the back of my mind I'm still putting that puzzle together. My creativity as a child was off the charts and since I lived in this dream world I created for myself I didn't worry about "how it was done" or the "right way" to do something. When I was in high school I got the crazy idea that I wanted to own a greenhouse and sell plants. So I went to the library and got every book I could find on plants and herbs, used all my money from training the neighbors horse's I had saved up, and payed to have a small greenhouse built in the back pasture. I grew a ton of organic plants and herbs and sold them at the farmers market which helped to buy my first truck. It took a lot of blood sweat and tears but now I own a successful photography business. I say all this to say, if your child is blessed/struggling with this, they have greatness inside of them. All children do, but there is such a bad stigma for kids who struggle with ADHD, and their path won't look like anyone else's. But that's what makes it so exciting! Enjoy the ride and know that they will cherish all the people who believed in them when no one else did.

This definitely took a different path than I thought it would (lol) but maybe someone needed to hear this.
